GUESTMIX#77: JEVO

JEVO is the moniker of David Ramirez Cortes, DJ and producer based in México, whose debut EP will be released in 2021 to offer the first glimpses of his peculiar take on club music that incorporates Latin rhythms as well as dark, industrial sounds for a modern dancefloor experience. In the previous months, he has been featured on several renowned radios such as Internet Public Radio and Wide Radio, where he presented dynamic mixtures of multiple genres and BPMs, with tracks by producers from all over the world and many of his own blends and edits.

Today, we’re glad to be hosting the Méxican artist on our pages with GUESTMIX#77, available on our SoundCloud page and also featuring original artwork by JEVO himself. Spanning exactly 40 minutes, the mix describes an intense journey on a hypothetical dancefloor fueled by a great ability to always keep the listener on the edge. Push the button!

But first, follow Jevo on SoundCloud, Instagram, and Facebook.

We are a non-profit organization registered in December 2018, operating since late 2015 as a webzine and media website. In early 2017, we started our own event series focused on arts, experimental, and dancefloor-oriented music. We reject every invocation to “the Future” meant as the signifier for capitalistic “progress” and “innovation”, fully embracing the Present instead; we renounce any reckless and ultimately arbitrary division between “high” and “low”, respectable and not respectable, “mind” and “body”; we support and invite musicians, artists, and performers having diverse backgrounds and expressing themselves via variegated artistic practices.
