Vykhod Sily in Russian means the way the Force (the power, the strength) goes through. It was and it is still the most original Russian dnb podcast since 2013 encompassing [] any subgenres which fit the ethos ‘deep, dark & heavy’

The monster tune Aakhu attacks with heavy subs and sharp percussion, while the contagious Intercontinental hunts more quietly, menacing us from behind a cloak of meditative, delicate sound. Both tunes can be possibly defined as the modern acoustic rituals in the dead of night. Come join the tribe.

Our first jump into 2018 has given us the opportunity to get in touch with the Russian Rostislav Yakushevich (the creator of a pivotal reference point for the experimental sounds of Jungle and Drum’n Bass: Vykhod Sily) who recorded for us the 29th entry of our GUESTMIX series. Using the Rustee moniker, he started his musical path in 2013 after a long experience with the Special Request crew and a radio show on DroptheBass web radio. He first released a mixtape pentalogy collapsing tribal influences over HalfSteppin’ and Dub 85/170 rituals, setting the course for his future project Vykhod Sily sound investigations. Truly passionate for music, experienced listener, and open-minded fellow, Rustee gave us an insight to dark ambient, obscure music via his GUESTMIX#29 selection of abstract electronic and moody atmospheres we’re so glad to host on our pages. Have fun!

Now living in Yekaterinburg, an important cultural center of the Ural area, Rostislav is an active supporter of local music scenes, among which he specifically referred to the industrial Moscow-based Null Sonics label, and DJs / producers such as Torn, Dailiv, Still and Code 906. The Rustee music background developed around numerous listenings  of ground-breaking records such as Platinum Breakz II (1997, its release a true legendary moment in Drum and Bass history), Metalheadz, Good Looking and V Recordings, all labels that were flourishing in the exuberant late 90s period – maybe the very last one that can be considered being part of the UK rave phenomenon golden era. Since the second half of the ’00s up to 2010, he worked as a member of the Special Request crew promoting post-dubstep, deep techno events, also managing to host very big names in the scene such as Fanu and Fracture. As we’ve been mentioning before, three years later Rustee launched Vykhod Sily, landing on quite deeper and more introspective musical styles he later brought him to appear on amazing podcast series (Source.Echo, Deep Structure, Come Meditate).

Vykhod Sily in Russian means the way the Force (the power, the strength) goes through. It was and it is still the most original Russian dnb podcast since 2013 encompassing [] any subgenres which fit the ethos ‘deep, dark & heavy’

The entire list of DJs / producer who released their mixed selections on Vykhod Sily is entirely available at the website http://vykhodsily.net/, featuring more than 94 podcasts recorded by Rostislav / Rustee himself and something like 200 entries from all over the world. The project roster includes renowed delegates of the most perilous, Amen break fetishist Jungle scene, important representatives of the atmospheric, industrial Halfstep scene (Acid Lab, Nic TVG, Owl, Algorythm, Genotype, Blanca, Antagonist, Tim Reaper, Phuture-T, Akinsa, Djinn, Eschaton, Red Army), and also leading figures in the deep-dnb European scene such as Entire, Alegria (Poland), K-Rob (Romania), Torn (Russian too), ILL K (Bremen), Algorythm (Serbia), Mauoq (Italian, London-based). All considered, browsing Vykhod Sily collection of mixtapes you’d end up listening for up to 4 months of uninterrupted streamings.

Vykhod Sily long-term goal, as stated in its crowdfunding campaign, it’s always been to turn the project into an actual record label offering both physical releases and free digital contents. Few months ago, the dream came to reality via Vykhod Sily Recordings’ first outing, recorded by dreadmaul (already out for the Bergamo and Berlin-based Italian label Delta 9) and Bereneces (who released early this year the quite outstanding Symbols EP Vol 1 on T3K), and featuring the two tracks called Aakhu ed Intercontinental – you can listen to them via the player right above.

VS001 would soon be followed by VS002 and VS003, hosted by Algorythm & Ghoulcut and  Akinsa & Ahmad respectively, outlining two different collaborative work. Vykhod Sily commendably puts its focus on both the listener and the DJ / producer, directly managing the relationship between the user and the content creator via the crowdfunding campaign allowing VS to cover the expenses, self-financing and paying the artists. The high quality standards reached by the amazing only-4-years-old Vykhod Sily catalog shine brightly in form of outstanding mixtapes recording by its founder Rustee and several guests from all over the world. You just cannot miss it! Support VS!

PAYNOMINDTOUS is a non-profit organization registered in December 2018, operating since late 2015 as a webzine and media website. In early 2017, we started our own event series in Turin, IT focused on arts, experimental, and dancefloor-oriented music. We reject every clumsy invocation to “the Future” meant as the signifier for capitalistic “progress” and “innovation”, fully embracing the Present instead; we renounce any reckless and ultimately arbitrary division between “high” and “low”, respectable and not respectable, “mind” and “body”; we support and invite musicians, artists, and performers having diverse backgrounds and expressing themselves via variegated artistic practices.
