E|H isn’t only the chronological follow up of its predecessor, but it represents also its logic consequence from a composition standpoint. Where Samaroid Diaromas stops, Eyegasm Hallelujah! begins, spreading and evolving starting from the wall of sound of the first album. The astonishing definition and solidity of the low frequencies are the characteristics that catches the ‘ear’ right from the very first listenings.
Such a steady framework is necessary though, in order to substain the entire structure of a very complex and multilayered album as the one we are speaking of. Sure enough, the main feature of this release is the incredible network made of harmonies, effects and noises that create an unwordly atmosphere, by alternating or topping one over the other. The melodic side of the album is not filling per se, as it is well balanced and wisely spaced out with moments of precise and controlled massive violence, in pure Sunpocrisy fashion way. The voice has a key role in fulfilling the powerful alchemy of contrasts and adjusts itself to the rest of the mix by means of thousands sides, emphasizing the seesaw of emotional asymmetries.
Every choice made by the band has the final goal to create an oneiric world in which every song walks into the other, perfectly following the pattern of a dreamlike experience. This new surrounding is the background of the detached and lysergic story told through this album, by means of superb, poetical lyrics. Although the concept is completely removed from reality, it recalls some of the deepest and darkest sides of the human soul, and it leaves room for some personal interpretation, by wondering about existence.

Anyway, the most remarkable feature of Eyegasm, Hallelujah! is its extraordinary synesthetic side. Listening to it allows the connection among different sensorial spheres, rather than the aural one, in particular the visual one, as the title of the album partially suggests (eye-gasm). This aspect is widely highlighted by an overwhelming live performance, thanks to a stunning game of shadows, beamings, lasers and projections. Finally, Eyegasm, Hallelujah! is not only the confirmation of a first class act but testifies its unstoppable process of growth and improvement.

PAYNOMINDTOUS is a non-profit organization registered in December 2018, operating since late 2015 as a webzine and media website. In early 2017, we started our own event series in Turin, IT focused on arts, experimental, and dancefloor-oriented music. We reject every clumsy invocation to “the Future” meant as the signifier for capitalistic “progress” and “innovation”, fully embracing the Present instead; we renounce any reckless and ultimately arbitrary division between “high” and “low”, respectable and not respectable, “mind” and “body”; we support and invite musicians, artists, and performers having diverse backgrounds and expressing themselves via variegated artistic practices.
