GUESTMIX#64: Metrakit [Tragico Traxxx]

Artwork by: Metrakit

Today our GUESTMIX series hits hard with Metrakit, a DJ and producer from Madrid, Spain. A skilled and eclectic selector both on CDJs and on vinyl, the makina champion is an avid spinner of fast dancefloor genres such as techno, trance, hardstyle, and hard house. His whole work at the decks and in the studio is focused on decontextualizing, breaking, and re-interpreting typical rhythmic and textural frameworks from the hardest club styles into post-hardcore, happy masterpieces, sometimes even indulging with dank meme music, as one can also see in the funny artworks.

Some of his dancefloor tools are available at Tragico Traxxx, his very own portal for free-download bangers, as well as on key labels such as Jerome Worldwide, Club Late Music, and Crystal Mine. The mix we present to you today features a whole bunch of unreleased material from Metrakit, coupled with a few footwork and hardstyle anthems. PUSH THE BUTTON AND START DANCING LIKE NO ONE IS WATCHING!

We are a non-profit organization registered in December 2018, operating since late 2015 as a webzine and media website. In early 2017, we started our own event series focused on arts, experimental, and dancefloor-oriented music. We reject every invocation to “the Future” meant as the signifier for capitalistic “progress” and “innovation”, fully embracing the Present instead; we renounce any reckless and ultimately arbitrary division between “high” and “low”, respectable and not respectable, “mind” and “body”; we support and invite musicians, artists, and performers having diverse backgrounds and expressing themselves via variegated artistic practices.
