GUESTMIX#100: LE MOURYNHO

LE MOURYNHO (they/them) is an artist, DJ, and musician originally from A Coruña, Spain, and now based in Barcelona. Since their debut in 2022, they developed a unique musical narrative, prioritizing technical research in sensory mixing. Their sound is characterized by vibrant club percussion, a wide variety of BPMs, explosive bass lines, and abrasive textures.

LE MOURYNHO’s musical journey began by blending elements like the 808, drums, and raw vocals with contemporary club sound experiments. As of now, they have collaborated with numerous clubs and collectives, such as Flux Lux (Vigo), Antidote Magazine (Paris), and Jokko Collective (Barcelona) among others. With their fresh approach to DJing, LE MOURYNHO not only crafts sets that heavily resonate with club-goers as experiences in their last 2023 Spain and EU tour. Their performances are an exploration of sound, where each beat and rhythm is meticulously chosen to create an immersive experience, showing a deep understanding of what is required to fire up the dancefloor.

We are a non-profit organization registered in December 2018, operating since late 2015 as a webzine and media website. In early 2017, we started our own event series focused on arts, experimental, and dancefloor-oriented music. We reject every invocation to “the Future” meant as the signifier for capitalistic “progress” and “innovation”, fully embracing the Present instead; we renounce any reckless and ultimately arbitrary division between “high” and “low”, respectable and not respectable, “mind” and “body”; we support and invite musicians, artists, and performers having diverse backgrounds and expressing themselves via variegated artistic practices.
